Teenage Communist
02:38
|
|||
Well they stormed the capital and committed treason
Seems to me they did it for all the wrong reasons
If you’re gonna smash glass, scream, and shout
Why not do it for those who’ve been left out?
Instead they turned their backs on the downtrodden
In worship of a soul that’s completely rotten
You see all this hypocrisy
Brings out the teenage, the teenage communist in me
I never bought the lie that wealth trickles down
But I still gotta make ends meet in silicon town
Do what you can, go get a career
Bring dollars in the door for bread and beer
Gotta swallow some pride, show no fear
Pretend like the money is oh so dear
You see all this hypocrisy
Brings out the teenage, the teenage communist in me
Everything’s built on inherited wealth
Looks like it’s gonna destroy itself
The rich get richer and the poor stay poor
The people in power still clink their glasses
Religion still pacifies the masses
There’s no sense of fairness
They got ethnic cleansing
It’s an incomplete injustice for all
You grow up, life changes you and that’s okay
But I learned some things in my youth that didn’t go away
I heard “The future belongs to those who see
The answers lie collectively”
It wasn’t crazy then, it’s not crazy today
Let’s give it a shot, what do you say?
You could find this to be true
It might bring out the teenage communist in you

Chump
01:57
|
|||
The hottest girl in class wants to come over and study
You're a chump, You’re a chump
She doesn't want your body, she just wants to be your buddy
You're a chump, You’re a chump
You think you've found yourself a brand new lover
But she really just wants to see your older brother
You're a chump, You’re a chump
Your boss asked you to pull an extra shift
You're a chump, You’re a chump
Now you missed date night and your girlfriend's miffed
You're a chump, You’re a chump
You think working hard is gonna get you ahead
But your boss just promoted his nephew instead
You're a chump, You’re a chump
You think you're too old and wise
To fall for the lies that they proselytize
But when you're swimming in bullshit every day
It's hard to imagine there's another way
And everybody living in the USA is a chump
If you think this is the land of opportunity
You're a chump, You’re a chump
2 million locked in jail in the land of the free
You're a chump, You’re a chump
If you're not born rich they think it's a sin
They'll let you die because you can't afford your medicine
And if you're on the outside just trying to get in
You're a chump, You’re a chump, You’re a chump, CHUMP!

You Need A New Therapist
02:20
|
|||
Your first wife left and never said why
Second ran off with another guy
Third one said that you were through
And you wonder why they all mistreated you
Your dad's an alcoholic; your mom's depressed
But they're not the reason that your life is a mess
You make your own choice every single day
To be a scumbag and drive people away
You need a new therapist to tell you straight
The issue isn't just the women you date
The source of your problems couldn't be any clearer
It's staring right back when you look in the mirror
Now you've hit middle age and you're alone
Even your dog ran away from home
The bottle's not your friend, its heart is cold
You’re gonna die before you get old
Your dad's an alcoholic; your mom's depressed
But they're not the reason that your life is a mess
You make your own choice every single day
To be a scumbag and drive people away
You need a new therapist to make it stick
A bad childhood's no license to be a dick
The source of your problems couldn't be any clearer
It's staring right back when you look in the mirror
You need a new therapist really bad
Because you grew up; turned into your dad
The source of your problems couldn't be any clearer
It's staring right back when you look in the mirror
You need a new therapist to make it stick
A bad childhood's no license to be a dick
The source of your problems couldn't be any clearer
It's staring right back when you look in the mirror

Wiggly Worm
01:28
|
|||
Wiggly worm
Squirm, squirm, squirm
Can't sit still?
Take your pill!
Sit like that
Until I get back
You stop moving!
You're not improving
ADHD, ADHD
ADHD, ADHD
ADHD, ADHD
ADHD, ADHD
Fiddle with this
Fiddle with that
Bash bash bash
Jump in the trash
Wiggly worm
Squirm, squirm, squirm
Can't sit still?
Take your pill!
ADHD, ADHD
ADHD, ADHD
ADHD, ADHD
ADHD, ADHD

Judy Kankakee
03:26
|
|||
Judy Kankakee was not her real name
She made the fog clear and kept to herself
Her tears were salty
She had a modern perspective
She rose in the East and set in the West
She did not like to copy and paste
She put all her money in Canadian banks
She played on someone else’s kit
Her butterfly was a Monarch
She once joined the party but never discussed it later
She was a subject matter expert
Her background matched her personality
She kept her best thoughts on paper scraps in a wooden cigar box
She uploaded files regularly
She formed a new band but kept the old name
She turned the tables on the bastards
She came from somewhere else
She got drunk on free wine
She traveled both near and far
She dealt with unresolved issues gracefully
She carefully rolled each cricket in cocaine before feeding it to the frog
She admired the less fortunate
She once wrote a movie review
She became progressively darker and more intense
She performed impeccable quality control
Her credit was never disparaged
She hit her stride early on and kept it in perpetuity
She never watched the previews
She swam up the river backwards
Her sculptures were provocative and oddly compelling to educated people
She did not talk too close to the microphone
She wore her own clothes
She never tried to sell you something temporary
She drove the local dry cleaners into bankruptcy
Her garden grew plastic plants
She had one foot in the past
She fed the swine daily
She pumped her own gas
She made her own church out of clay
She pushed the small child down the sledding hill after the first big snowfall
She brought out the treble but not the bass
She was denoted by her absence
She transferred the data
She did her best work on her feet
Her poetry was an acquired taste
She never went to reunions
She deftly leveraged her vast creative output to considerable profit
Her hands were open to all
She moved on when it was time to move on
Her guns were immaculate
She was an American Icon
She was authentic
She was not afraid to visit dangerous places
She was not afraid to change her name
She was not afraid of anything, really
She was Judy Kankakee

So are you one of my fans?
Are you one of my fans?

Do you want to play in my band?
Did I see you last time?
You wanna gimme something to sign?
